Day 4: Unsurprising day gets a memorable ending

Alcohol is free already in the morning, at least for Koza Mostra who rehearsed first today. The backdrop features white-yellowish stripes and Agathon Iakovidis is playing bouzouki in the middle of the stage. The performance overall is energetic with the boys running around the stage but not chaotic, at least now.

ISRAEL

A black grand piano and three backing vocalists, two male and one female join Moran Mazor on stage. Moran herself wears the same dress as in the national final with some added jewellery and a white train. Blue lighting makes the performance very effective.

Dorians will give a rather basic band performance. Pyros and wind machine are used but otherwise they don’t rely on tricks and gimmicks.

HUNGARY

ByeAlex’s preview video is projected on the background while the artist himself is on stage with a female backing vocalist and a guitarist. The performance is very minimalist which of course fits the song.

NORWAY

Today’s probably most waited artist climbed on stage right after the lunch break. Her white dress from MGP has been revamped and the backgrounds are blue with white spot lights illuminating the stage. Three backing vocalists and a drummer were on stage with her and the ambience is really electric.

ALBANIA

Catwalk and satellite stage are in use when Albania comes on stage. The color theme is kept in a mix of orange, red and yellow and as can be expected, pyros are used to create a real fire show which gives the song even more power and surely comes across really well when watched on tv.

GEORGIA

Then comes a ballad which is composed by Thomas G:son. Three backing vocalists wear black as does Nodi. Sophie, on the other hand has an elegant white/blue dress. The singers started the song separated but later walked close to each other holding their hands. A wind machine and pyros (partly the same as in Running Scared) get to work in this performance as well.

SWITZERLAND

Takasa were forced to change their Salvation Army uniforms to new outfits and thus they are wearing white shirts with black ties. The whole band stands in a row and the backgrounds are reflecting the colors of red and grey. Unlike in the studio version, Sarah sings the first part. The 95-year old Emil is probably why this performance is remembered afterwards.

ROMANIA

This semi-final most certainly gets a memorable ending – Cezar takes care of that! A black jacket is open all the way till navel, a cross necklace and gloves complete the outfit. Three dancers appear from under the red curtain and Cezar is lifted up just like Aliona Moon in the first semi-final.
