LRT of Lithuania now calls for songs for its national selection format 2014 which will be revamped from the previous years. This time the composers and artists can enter separately – in this case the singers’ songs will be determined by the organizers among the songs, sent by the songwriters. The deadline to enter is set for November 15.
The competition is divided into three stages with the first one being an ‘anniversary concert’ celebrating the 20 years of the country’s debut. In this concert also the 2014 candidates will perform.
The second phase consists of five televised pre-selection shows which begin on December 21st and last until January 18. In these shows the candidates sing songs in different genres as chosen by the jurors. Six out of 20 will qualify for the final stage of the race.
Stage three consists of three shows airing between January 25th and February 8th. Here the artists will perform the songs which would be their Eurovision entries, four will eventually qualify for the national final which will take place February 8th.
