Yesterday was the last day for EBU member broadcasters to initially confirm participation in Eurovision 2014. The following 37 countries did so but the final deadline is set for January 10, if any country withdraws after that, they will face a fine. Slovenia decided to apply for ESC 2014 but the final decision will be made later so their participation is still unsure. Also Greece is participating at the moment but their new broadcaster is yet to be accepted to join EBU.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
As reported, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Serbia all decided not to enter the contest because of the financial difficulties. Bosnia & Herzegovina and Portugal, however, will make a comeback in Copenhagen after skipping the 2013 contest.
39 countries competed in Malmö this May. Last time 37 countries competed when the contest took place in Athens, 2006.
All the songs must be released by March 17th when the Heads of Delegations meeting takes place in Copenhagen.
