Right before the Semi-Final Allocation Draw, Copenhagen was officially declared as the host city for Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The mayor of last year’s host city Malmö, Kent Andersson, handed over the symbolic Eurovision key for the mayor of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen.
– Copenhagen will be full of events during Eurovision week [..] We will do our best to make sure that the 2014 Eurovision will be a fantastic event, Jensen commented.
The ceremony took place at the Copenhagen City Hall in front of the press. The event was hosted by DR’s journalist and television presenter Tine Gøtzsche.
