Die Grosse Entscheidungs Show

In late November, the 18 acts which had won the local broadcasters’ regional selections, competed in ‘Expert Check’. There, the jury panel of six members rated the songs and now six of them are competing in the final. The running order is as follows:

  1. Christian Tschanz – Au paradis
  2. 3 For All – Together Forever
  3. Nino Colonna – La luce del cuore
  4. Yasmina Hunzinger – I Still Believe
  5. Natacha & Stéphanie – Une terre sans vous
  6. Sebalter – Hunter Of Stars

A mix of televotes and jury votes (50/50%) will determine the winner who will represent the country in Copenhagen. Bodensee Arena in Kreuzlingen hosts the show and it starts at 20:10 CET. Webcast will be available here.

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu

After two pre-qualification heats and one semi-final, eight acts are still competing in the Finnish UMK and today, one of them will be given a ticket to Copenhagen. Also last year’s UMK winner Krista Siegfrids will perform her new single on stage in Espoo.

  1. Softengine – Something better
  2. Hanna Sky – Hope
  3. MIAU – God/Drug
  4. Lauri Mikkola – Going down
  5. MadCraft – Shining bright
  6. Mikko Pohjola – Sängyn reunalla
  7. Clarissa feat. Josh – Top of the world
  8. Hukka ja Mama – Selja

Live show starts at 20:00 CET, the pre-show UMK+ will air online already at 19:30. Webcast is available here. The jury will give their points on the show and the audience can already vote for their favorites.

  1. Switzerland

Switzerland has always been one of my favorite participating countries in Eurovision. I like / love a lot of their entries but I think it’s better from next year on to select their entries internally. This final is not exactly of a high level, but it isn’t as bad as some might say. However, there are only 2 songs above the rest:

Yasmina Hunzinger – I still believe (A very beautiful and convincing ballad.)
3 For All – Together forever (An enormously catchy and happy song. It sounds as if this could be a Romanian entry. It is the only song of these six finalists that has such an recognizable melody and that could be a hit. And that’s a big plus at Eurovision.)

I don’t like “Hunter of stars” by Sebalter at ll. I think it has a very irritating melody. For me, it’s the worst song in this final.

    Good luck Switzerland!

  2. Finland

Just like last year a strong final with 6 very good song.

    My favorites for tonight:

    – Clarissa feat Josh – Top of the world (Very strong and catchy song. It has hit written all over it. It would make the perfect entry for Finland.)
    – Hanna Sky – Hope (Very good song with a universal theme.)
    – Hukka ja Mama – Selja
    – Lauri Mikkola – Going down (Strong and good sung ballad.)
    – Madcaft – Shining bright (Normally not really my style, but I think it’s a fun song.)
    – Mikko Pohjola – Sängyn reunalla

One of these six and Finland has a worthy entry for Copenhagen!

“God / drug” by MIAU is such a messy song and would be a wrong choice in my opinion just like “Something better” by Softengine. Not a bad song but generic, not remarkable enough. And besides there are thousands of other songs like this out there which are much better and more remarkable.

    Good luck Finland!
