Selection format

This year’s Moldovan representative was chosen through O Melodie Pentru Europa 2014. There was three different stages in the national selection. The first stage had a jury panel to go through the submitted entries and pick out top 40. Unfortunately, there was technical issues between the first and second stage, that made every submitted entry go on to the next stage where the entries was performed in auditions. The last stage was the shows, where 24 entries performed in two semifinals, and 16 went to the final. The winner was chosen by jury- and televoting.

Cristina Scarlat

Cristina is a 33 year old vocalist and mother of two. She has always been interested in music, and also plays the piano and the violin beside her singing career. In 2006 she graduated from the Moldovan music conservatory and her powerful voice has also gotten her to be a lead singer in the Presidential Orchestra. Cristina has earlier entered the Moldovan national selection for Eurovision Song Contest, in 2011 and 2013.
