ORF invites Europe to Austria for Eurovision 2015

COnchita winner

The Austrian broadcaster ORF invites everyone to Austria for Eurovision Song Contest 2015. It took 48 years for the country to win the song contest for the second time. Their first victory came in 1966 with Udo Jürgen‘s ‘Merci, Chérie’. But thanks to Conchita Wurst, the country is given the honor of hosting the 2015 contest.

– We waited for quite a long time; 48 years. We will do our best to make it a wonderful event in Austria, the ORF representative said in the winner’s press conference.

– Austria is a very open nation and we are glad that this openness has been seen and accepted in Europe. I want to thank DR for organizing this year’s song contest – it will be difficult to be as good hosts next year but we will do our best.

When asked whether Conchita Wurst will represent Austria again next year, she replied that she wants to give a chance to other artists. She, however, said that she would love to host the show!

Also the ESC boss Jon Ola Sand appeared to give the Welcome Package for the 2015 host broadcaster.

– I’m proud to be working with you, Jon Ola Sand said and handed out the Welcome Package for ORF.
