Both, Latvia and Lithuania have announced their plans for 2015 season. They are now searching for songs to compete in their pre-selections – Latvia revamps its format while Lithuania counts on the same one as in 2014.
Supernova for Latvia
The Latvian broadcaster replaces its Dziesma and goes for ‘Supernova’ -format. In practice this means that a national selection of three semi-finals and Grand Final will take place in February. The submission period is now open and it closes on December 10. The semi-finals take place on February 2nd, 8th and 15th and the final on 22nd. In the final, there will be four acts and the winner is chosen 50/50 jury/televoters.
Eurovision marathon in Lithuania
The submission period is open until December 15th and a couple of weeks later – on January 3rd, the first show airs. 12 contestants will be competing every Saturday until late February when the finals take place. Each week one or more singers are eliminated from the race. On February 14th, the Eurovision song will be chosen and a week later the audience and jury vote for the artist to sing it in Vienna.
