Preparations in the Eurovision 2015 arena have started as the host broadcaster ORF has taken over the venue. Yesterday, the first trucks arrived in Wiener Stadthalle to start building the stage. A total of some 350 truckloads of equipment will be offloaded inside the arena. All material must be inspected by the security authors and by sniffer dogs.
First rehearsals in Vienna start on May 11th but technical rehearsals start already days earlier which means that everything must be ready within the next weeks.
The stage of this year’s song contest was presented in January. This year it will feature 1,288 pillars forming an eye-shaped stage. The stage is 44 metres in width and 14,3 metres in height. The Green Room will be again located inside the arena and artists will enter the venue in the final using a ‘magic bridge’ above the audience’.
