Selection format

Portugal has used Festival da Canção as their selection process for several years, and their 49th edition was revealing the Portuguese entrant for Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The process included two semifinals and one final. Twelve entries participated in all, six in each semifinal, where two from each semifinal was picked by the public, and another one from each semifinal was chosen by an expert jury. In the final, two act was chosen by the public and another one by the jury to compete in a superfinal at the end of the show. The public had then all the power to decided between the three superfinalists. Leonor Andrade won the superfinal against Teresa Radamanto and Gonçalo Tavares.

Leonor Andrade

Leonor Andrade is a singer, songwriter and actress, starting her musical experience at the age of four, when she started to play the piano. She has always been passionate about music, and in 2014 she decided to take it a step further and participated in The Voice Portugal. After her exit from the show, she returned to the screen, but this time as an actress in the tv-series Água de Mar.

Leonor will perform the Portuguese entry in the second semifinal, on May 21st.
