Selection format

Melodifestivalen 2015 was held like usual in Sweden, with four semifinals, one second chance and a grand final. This year, seven acts were competing in each semifinal, and two of them got to the final, while 3rd and 4th place went to the second chance. In the second chance, four of the competing entries went to the final. Twelve songs were in the final, and Måns Zelmerlöw won with 288 points, a new score in the national selection! The second place went to Jon Henrik Fjällgren and his entry Jag är fri (Manne Leam Frijje).

Måns Zelmerlöw

Måns Zelmerlöw is a Swedish singer and TV presenter. He started his career back in 2005, when he entered the Swedish Idol, and has been a known face for the Swedish audience ever since. Måns ended fifth in Idol, but only a year later he entered the Swedish version of Let’s Dance and won it all! In 2007, Måns entered Melodifestivalen for the first time, and ended up third. After this, he has hosted the national selection for Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Lilla Melodifestivalen, hosted the original Melodifestivalen and entered once again as a singer, and once as a songwriter. Then, in 2015, he came back and finally won.

Sweden will compete in the second semifinal, on May 21st.
