Selection format

Eurosong 2015 – NERIT & MAD Show (60 years of music) was the complete name of this year’s edition of the national selection format in Greece. Five acts competed in a final, and the result was decided by a mixture of juryvotes and televotes. Maria Elena Kyriakou got the highest score from both jury and public, and won over Thomai Apergi & Legend with 10 points against 7.

Maria Elena Kyriakou

Maria Elena Kyriakou is a singer and mother of three boys from Cyprus. She won a singing contest in Cyprus when she was only twelve, but has in later years worked as a professor and studied Greek literature and humanities. The music wasn’t in focus until she participated in Voice of Greece in 2014, where she won the whole contest and released her first album the same year.

Maria is now ready to represent Greece in Eurovision Song Contest 2015, and she will sing in the first semifinal, on May 19th.
